Token Tools can generate a base set of Figma variables for you — a ready-made starting structure for spacing, typography, and color tokens.
There are two modes depending on your Figma plan:
- Figma Pro — generates variables using Figma’s native variable collections with full support for modes and scoping
- Figma Free — generates variables compatible with the limitations of the free Figma plan
To generate base variables:
- Open the plugin and go to Tokens
- Select Figma Pro or Figma Free depending on your plan
- A base variable set will be created in your current file
You can rename, extend, or modify the generated variables as needed.
